Kawa
Origin:
Guinea region Faranah ethnic group Malinke
Description:
Kawa is a rhythm which is danced only by the initiated men.
It is a dance of the mask and is played for the festival of the feticheurs.
The master feticheur carries the mask, which confers a powerful capacity to him.
The fetichor must know the secrecies of the plants and those of time (of the day and
the night). The féticheurs protect, thanks to their magic, against the bad spirits,
diseases and all malevolent things.
