Dalah (Dallah)
Origin: Northeast Guinea ethnic group Malinke
Description:
The word Dallah means sacred river as well the rhythm which is played at the fishing festival. Fishing is rarely allowed (generally only one times a year). At this special day a great festival takes place, with singing and dancing, until the village boss releases the river for fishing. Then and all women, men and children have the right to fish. This is still practiced until today.
